Your Money
What do you
want from your money? A new gadget? A new car? A new house? College Tuition for
your kids? Security when you retire? Wouldn’t it simply be great to just have
“enough” money never to worry…
There isn’t a part of our lives that money doesn’t touch—it affects our
relationships, the way we go about our daily activities, our ability to make our
dreams a reality, everything…Most of us, I think, have a core anxiety that we
carry around with us, though we may not admit it to ourselves. That is part of
money’s power over us. Being free of anxiety doesn’t depend on HOW much money
you have, true financial freedom comes from having the power over the fears and
anxieties instead of the other way around.
Your money can work for you—and you can always have enough—more than enough—when
you give it time, energy and understanding. Money is like a person and it will
respond when you treat it as you would a cherished friend—never fearing it,
pushing it away, turning away from its needs, pretending it doesn’t exist, and
never holding on to it so tight that it hurts. Sometimes its fatter, sometimes
its skinnier, sometimes it doesn’t feel so good, and sometimes it needs
nurturing and respect. If we tend to treat money like the living entity that it
is, then it will flourish, grow and take care of you as long as you need it and
look after the loved ones that you may leave behind one day…
Most of us know at least some of the small things that we can do to free
ourselves from money anxieties. We could manage our debt better, cut back on
some unnecessary expenses, strategically plan NOW for LATER, protect what we
save, save more…the list goes on…When it comes to money, true freedom comes from
when what you DO, THINK and SAY are one and are in unison…
have
the courage to question & challenge the status quo... refuse to
accept "traditional" thinking and answers as fact....
