Crossroads Farm at Grossmann’s is a certified organic, 5-acre vegetable farm in Malverne, New York. The farm is operated by the Nassau Land Trust* under long-term lease from Nassau County, who acquired the farm from the Grossmann family with proceeds from the 2006 Environmental Bond Act. The Nassau Land Trust is a volunteer operated, registered nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving land for Nassau’s future. *The Nassau Land Trust is NOT affiliated with Nassau County and receives no funding from Nassau County. [www.nassaulandtrust.org ] Crossroads Farm organically grows and sells its own seasonal produce, as well as organic and conventionally-grown produce from across Long Island at it's indoor farm stand. The farm has also become a Community Center for everyone to visit and enjoy. We have farm animals on the property and host multiple fundraising events throughout the year. Crossroad's farm animals including Chickens, Ducks, Goats, Sheep, Rabbits, Geese, Pony, Peacocks, Turkeys, and more available for birthday parties and event petting zoos. Crossroads Farm harvests over 40 unique varieties of certified organic vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers. Cheeses from Catapano Dairy Farm and Mecox Bay Dairy also for sale, as well as eggs from Armstrong Farm and potato chips from North Fork Potato Chips. In autumn, Crossroads Farm offers pies and cider from Jericho Cider Mill, and in the spring features a bedding plant sale. The contributions of volunteers and support of the community are essential to the success of Crossroads Farm at Grossmann's. Volunteers play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the farm and farm stand. Volunteers receive a hands-on education in organic growing methods, plant care, and local food operations. Events at the farm included rye and popcorn planting with the Waldorf School of Garden City, screening of “Vanishing of the Bees” with special guest filmmaker Maryam Henein, and make-your-own natural cleaning supplies workshops. Crossroads Farm at Grossmann’s Fall Festival features family-friendly fun, including pumpkin picking, hay rides, a petting zoo, live music, storytelling, and children’s games. The Crossroads Farm Stand is open late April through December.
